Comets are FireTribe's Ribbon Poi. They are R160.00

What makes Comets such a great and unique product is that the Tails are detachable! This means that you get to choose what colour you want them to be and you get to practice that new move without worrying about the tails getting tangled.

There are 10 Colours available. Red, Orange, Pink, Yellow, Green, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Purple, White and Black. And you can choose any colours to make up your Comets.

When placing your order please state what colour you want the Comet heads to be and what colours you want the tails to be.

The colours that glow under UV light are : Orange, Pink, Green and White.

It has been my experience that you should rather get the colours you want and forget about the UV unless you are specifically looking for the glow effect. There is (for all practical purposes) an unlimited amount of Colour Combinations - best not to think about that too much and just pick your favourite 2 or 3 colours.

This Choice is possible because the Tails are attached by velcro. The attachment is made doubly strong because the velcro is on both sides. To attach the tails simply open the back of the Comets bag and velcro the tails inside

How to adjust the length

The most popular length is when your arm is down by your side and the Comets are hanging form your fingers, the heads of the Comets are about ankle height. Some people prefer shorter - it is entirely up to you.

The easiest way to adjust the length is to hold the Comets by the finger loops, putting your arm down by your side, allowing the Comets to hang down next to your leg.

Then get someone to help you. All they need to do is to take hold of the knot that is by the top of the swivel and pull this knot up, away from the ground.

You will notice that the Comets get shorter.

Once you have the length you desire take note of the piece of cord that is now going through the top of the swivel.

It is here that you tie a new knot in the cord and when you let go it will be this knot that gets caught in the swivel and will keep the Comets at the length you have chosen.

A warning: Once you have tied the knot and then played with the Comets for a while the knot may become too tight to undo. So be sure about the length you choose.

Comet Specs

  • They consist of a 2 finger loop grip, super strength cord, swivel and ball hosued in a ripstop bag with 2 x 1m ripstop tails.
  • The 2 finger loop grip provides maximum comfort and control.
  • The Ripstop material is that used in kites and parachutes for its strength and durability.
  • The Tails have a sewn in hem to maximize resistance to fraying.
  • The length of the comets are completely adjustable.
