Adderley Street's Lights

This is one of Cape Town’s largest public open-air events. It happens every year just before December school holidays.
Around 50 000 people come to watch the Mayor of Cape Town switch on the City’s Festive Season Lights. There is also a free concert and a huge carnival that makes its way up and down Adderley Street.
FireTribe have been the Fire Dancers at this event for about the last 7 or 8 years. (it gets a bit blurry :) It is usually a bit (!) stressful getting everyone in place but always great fun once everything gets going.
The evening is a fabulous combination of precise planning and potential chaos - A real tribute to Cape Townians’.
